About

Image of smiling woman with dark hear wearing grey sweater and knee-length dress with cloud pattern.

Hi. I’m Diane.

I’m an escalator historian, editor, and special collections acquisitions librarian based in Northeast Ohio.

My scholarship centers on women and artist’s books, the manufactured rivalry between painters Cecilia Beaux (1855–1942) and John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), American publisher’s bookbindings, and how women and the escalator influenced transportation and retail expansion in the twentieth century.

I work with booksellers and institutions to expand their holdings in alternative and underground press, queer print culture, and work by women and BIPOC printers and artists.
